First, let me thank each of you for your continued support. It's been a while since you've heard from me, and I'm excited to reconnect with my loyal subscribers and welcome my new subscribers.
The past few years, I've been styling and coaching clients. Although I hadn't made it official, that has been the direction of my organization. These past several months have been exciting, quite busy, and a bit scared of the unknown. Image and style are in my DNA! I will always keep a bespoke list of clients with longstanding relationships and a referral from a trusted friend. But over the past two years, I've witnessed firsthand that total wellness and self-care are broader than the spa or a mani/pedi. When speaking with my clients, two main recurring conversations always come up; menopause and burnout. We were all dealing with the impact of some stage of menopause, and everybody was tired! Myself included. Who knows what I'm talking about? (Raise hand)
After several meetings with my coach and colleagues, I recognized a need for women's wellness in the workplace. This expanded my purpose of service to reboot, retool, and rebuild! (Thanks Urla 😊) Let's face it, hardly any of us are ready to throw in the towel and call it quits until the sunset, as we're at the peak of career success or looking towards our 2.0. We have so much more to give. But, this pace is not sustainable, and our health will undoubtedly suffer. According to a recent study published by Deloitte, with the aftermath of quarantine and "the great resignation" recent studies show women are more stressed out this year than last year! How did we get back to this mad rollercoaster ride, having witnessed firsthand the importance of good health?
Menopause.
Burnout.
The World Health Organization has assigned both as a medical diagnosis.
Both are real, both impact daily living and, if not addressed, wreak havoc on our total well-being.
As a life and wellness coach for senior executive level women, I've rebooted my business to become a champion and fierce advocate for women and workplace wellness.
I continue to retool and expand my knowledge around my purpose. I'm excited to rebuild Sonya Barnes International, home of the Extraordinary Life Institute, as one of the most recognized organizations worldwide for women and wellness. And the go-to for bold organizations seeking to create a workplace environment that is supportive, transparent, and safe for their top-tier female talent.
Please join me in this movement. Take a look at the new website, let's have a conversation, and share.
Here's to an extraordinary life of wellness.
Yours In Style,
Sonya
